Your doctor has good news and bad news. The bad news is you have cancer in your abdomen. The good news is that it can be cured, using a combination of three drugs and ten radiation treatments.
Would you settle for just two of the three drugs? Would you compromise your medical care and take one drug the doctor prescribed, one that sounds a little like the second doctor-prescribed drug (recommended by your grandmother), and skip the third altogether? Would you accept six radiation treatments instead of ten, and on the old, obsolete but cheaper machine? In Nevada or Louisiana, is it okay to get different treatments because you live there than what other patients with the same cancer get in California or Illinois?
The key question is this: Is it acceptable for your doctor to prescribe painkillers that make you feel better for a while but fails to cure your tumor and as an added bonus, causes another cancer?
This is not a joke or at least not a funny one. All of the above is what Doctor Congress is doing to a critically ill patient called healthcare.
ObamaCare–HR3962–is touted as healthcare reform. “To reform” means to change something for the better. “To exacerbate” means to change something from bad to worse. If they called HR3962 healthcare exacerbation, they would tell the truth but couldn’t sell the Bill to anyone.
ObamaCare takes a system that is complex, costly, with variable quality and limited access and makes it: much more complex, even more costly, with increased chances for errors and reduced access. Is that what YOU call reform?
HR3962 creates dozens of new bureaucracies and thousands of new regulations and regulators but adds not a single nurse or doctor. It costs us over $1 trillion dollars while cutting payments and reducing services. The new spending does not go to patients: it simply is added to the massive bloated “waste of the middle.” Is this not exacerbation?
Why should your care be different–by law, i.e., HR3962–based on your residence? Is diabetes or arthritis different in Nevada and Louisiana, with their exclusions and exemptions, than in the rest of the USA?
Recall the key medical question above and apply it to sick healthcare. Is it okay for their treatment to make our cancer worse and to create a second malignancy? Why do we allow the self-proclaimed doctor for healthcare–Congress–to NOT treat what is really wrong and simultaneously give us a new disease?
Their so-called solution–ObamaCare–and our acquiescence to it will kill us.
